Moses Magogo, the President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations has arrived in Gabon. He has brought cash bonuses for the Cranes which depend on their performance at the AFCON 2017.
On Tuesday afternoon the Uganda Cranes will play their group opening match against Black Stars at the Port Gentil Stadium. The Ugandan FA President says that rewarding the team for every performance is a good incentive as it will prove to be a good motivator in this grand event.
The President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations further added, “There was no way I could travel to Gabon without money for the team because I promised I would carry it to Gabon.”
Last Friday, the government released the last batch of Shs1 billion and the Federation accessed it last Saturday. The initial release was of Shs1 billion which was released prior to the teams departure for Gabon.
The Federation of Uganda Football Association didn’t reveal the precise amount of the match bonuses but Magogo explained that the Federation has agreed on dispatching the bonuses on winning the matches and for drawing a match in the later stages of the tournament
